Kairos 4tet – “Song For The Open Road”

Today’s video is from Kairos 4tet, performing “Song For The Open Road” from their 2013 release Everything We Hold.  It’s a rare proper music video, the kind of thing you’d expect to see on MTV or VH1 (do they still show music videos; good god, it’s been forever since I’ve watched either of those channels… well, you get my point).  Gotta say, it’s refreshing to see the effort go into a solid music video for a jazz tune.  It’d be nice to see more of it.

A review of Everything We Hold will be published on Bird is the Worm tomorrow (Monday, October 7th, 2013).  In the meantime, enjoy the video from one of the prettiest melodic albums I’ve heard this year.

Your video personnel:  Adam Waldmann (sax), Jasper Høiby (bass), Ivo Neame (piano), Jon Scott (drums), Omar Lye-Fook (vocals), and Emilia Martensson (vocals).

Video credits:  Directed by Rupert Friend, Produced by Amy Gilliam, Cinematography by George Richmond, Production Design by Laura Huston, Edited by Pani Ahmadi-Moore, Grading by Rob Pizzey @ Ascent, and ‘Man’ played by Sion Parkinson.

Enjoy, and have a great Sunday!
