Nels Cline Singers, live at Dazzle Jazz Club

Today’s featured video is from the Nels Cline Singers, from a May 2014 performance at Denver’s Dazzle Jazz Club.  The show is in support of the group’s new release Macroscope, which will be getting reviewed tomorrow (Monday, 7/14/14), here, on this site.

In the meantime, here’s a taste of what’s to come.  The opening is a little screechy and sharp, but that’s part of the deal with this group.  But if it’s not your thing, hang tough and stay patient, and eventually they transition into the catchy “Canales’ Cabeza” and then end the show with the gorgeous droning intensity of “Seven Zed Heaven.”

I probably could have filed my review under the Something Different series, if that gives you a sense of what’s what.

In any event, here’s that video.

Your video personnel:  Nels Cline (guitar), Scott Amendola (drums), Cyro Baptista (percussion), and Trevor Dunn (bass).  They all seem to have some hand in the electronics and effects.

Have a great Sunday!

Cheers.
