There is nothing quite like going out on a Friday night for some live music. It’s energizing. It’s illuminating. It gives a glimpse of how wondrously beautiful and big life can be. No better way to start the weekend.

And when the performance is as solid as the Jeb BishopTim Daisy Duo‘s performance at Mecca Dance Studio on 5/18/12, that’s the kind of momentum that carries through the entire weekend.

Various members of Chicago’s jazz avant-garde and experimental music set have been traveling down to Lexington for the better part of ten years, often with the coordination of Lexington resident Ross Compton getting the ducks into row. It’s a tradition that Daisy commented on being a part for most of that time span, making annual trips to Lexington, sometimes more.
