Eivind Opsvik – “Silkweaver’s Song”

Bassist Eivind Opsvik has been creating some seriously interesting music over the years, and he just seems to be getting better at it.  He’s one of those artists who just makes Creative Music… music that transcends genre while being simultaneously informed by it.  He’ll always likely be associated with Jazz, because he’s collaborated with and performed on some solid jazz recordings.  Meanwhile, the music on his own albums keeps stretching out in his own unique direction.

Here’s a live performance of “Silkweaver’s Song” at Le Poisson Rouge, NYC, on April 3rd 2012, as part of a record release show for his new album Overseas IV (review HERE).

Your video personnel:  Eivind Opsvik (bass), Brandon Seabrook (guitar), Tony Malaby (saxophone), Jacob Sacks (piano, farfisa organ & clavinet), and Kenny Wollesen (drums).

Have a great Sunday!

Cheers.
